Just found this…

David and I were going through old pictures and videos and totally blundered into this. He got this just before Huckleberry got hurt, I was so surprised when I saw it, I didn’t even know it existed and he had forgotten about it lol.

I remember when it happened because it was a “one of” time that it happened, lol. Huck’s usual resting place was behind that grill on the hot tub cover. He was so curious about Oscar and Andy. Little did we all know what was about to happen…

I got lucky this morning and found my Three Musketeers on the tree that is in the same place the video was taken 🙂

Made my morning!

Huckleberry was a totally feral cat that wandered into our yard to visit off and on for a year. When he disappeared for a month we knew something was very wrong. He came back dragging a leg and very skinny. We knew what we had to do. After a successful trap, neuter, and amputation for a completely broken femur he now resides as an indoor kitty and is pain free and happy.

  1. So glad you found this hidden treasure! Oscar and Andy are saying, “Come on in. Life is a non-stop pawty on this side of the glass!”

Little did any of them know about the changes to come. And all for the better thanks to the incredible dedication you and David gave Huckleberry ❤❤❤

Sweet video. Thanks for sharing. 😊

    Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

  2. I was elated when David showed it to me 🙂
I got a picture this morning of the three Musketeers all on the tree (rare opportunity for all three at once, lol) I will post it soon.

    Hugs,
    Jackie and Huck 💖

  3. That a great photo. To be avle to have rhe video “before”, and then to capture the three of them “after” in the same spot, just with no glass between them this time, quite special😊

  4. Yes, I actually was in the right place at the right time for a change, lol. I don’t get to see all three at the same time on the tree very often. Oscar ( black and white) has a little basket that he really likes to hang out in and watch the fish and frogs. With the nice weather coming in they have been hanging out in the sun room more. It’s also too high for Bo to reach, hahah!

  5. Big AWWWWW here! Oh wow it was so cool to see that video and watch them communicating to each other. They were secretly plotting his transition! And so cute doing it. What lucky kitties. A beautiful pride.

  6. Thank you Rene. I have been doing a lot of reminiscing lately and as we open the yard and clean for the nice weather, so many thoughts and memories pop up.
I think we are finally coming in to our own with our newly extended family. Feels good 🙂

    Hugs,
    Jackie and Huck

  7. Hi! I just got back home from a work trip and flipped my calendar to May and there was Huckleberry lounging in his calendar photo so I thought I’d look to see if his story was on the blogs. I just read through Huckleberry’s story and I wanted to thank you for sharing his story. He’s such a sweet and beautiful kitty, and so lucky to have found your family!

I joined this community a few years ago when my old kitty Misty was diagnosed with cancer and I had to make the difficult decision to amputate. All the folks here gave me the confidence and courage to do what was best for my kitty and give her a couple more good years of life. Fang’s Story was the first blog I read and it was amazing to read about he and other kitties recovered. I’m so glad you and Huckleberry found this community too.

Even though my Misty is gone now, the knowledge and experience I gained with her are serving me and my family well. Last year my young cat Maxwell was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and had to have surgery on both hips. If I had not already gone through what I did with Misty I might have been much more afraid of getting him surgery and certainly less knowledgeable about how to help him recover afterwards.

  8. Thank you so much, Huckleberry has been a joy to have in our lives. And this community has helped us so much, I will be forever grateful.

The challenges of amputation and invasive surgeries are very scary, and having such a wonderful group of people that chime in with experiences and advice from personal examples is truly invaluable. I feel fortunate to have found such a place.

I hope Maxwell has done well since his surgery. Thank you so much for taking the time to read Huck’s story.

    Hugs,
    Jackie and Huckleberry 💖
